Auditorium building
Based on a modular design, this project involves erecting a building on the site of a condemned building. The new construction includes a workshop, an auditorium and two seminar rooms as well as the required ancillary rooms. The project must be completed in less than three months. Using prefab room cells, the building’s useful life is to be at least three years, although a considerably longer life span is being considered.
Residential building
The Wilhelminian-period house is to be fundamentally and suitably restor-
ed as a monument. Its building equip-
ment is to be upgraded; based on state-of-the-art energy efficiency principles. The four existing apartments are to be redesigned following contemporary ground plans and include modern wet cells. Each floor will be expanded to include an additional room and outdoor seat area facing the rear courtyard. The attic space will be finished as living space.

New childcare center

Directly next to an elderly care home, a newly built four-group childcare center is being constructed to take the place of a condemned rear courtyard building. The new childcare center building project is based on an agreed spatial allocation plan which implements the underlying pedagogical concept. A new outdoor play area is also being created in the adjacent garden.

Modernization of sterilization zone

In addition to the required refurbishment of technical equipment and devices and an improved room layout for a University Hospital, the building project focuses on modernizing the floor, wall and ceiling surfaces on the unsanitary side of the hospital’s sterilization services. In six construction phases during ongoing hospital operation, surfaces must be put into place that is easy to clean and disinfect.
